Quick Note...

Try-City Entertainment began in 2006 with a group of kids from the Capital District (518) of New York who had a dream to bring quality music and entertainment to the Hip-Hop heads around the world. With the constant decline of "Rap" music in the mainstream industry, we vowed to stay true to the game, ourselves, and the fans that keep us alive. We are fueled by the love of music and the Hip-Hop culture, and, at all costs, try to avoid the hate and negativity that is all too familiar in this business. We've seen a lot of friends, affiliates, artists, and supporters come and go, but we continue to go strong regardless of anything that gets in our way. We hope that all who visit this page and/or take the opportunity to check out our product(s) enjoy and appreciate what we have to offer. We can only do us...and we do it for y'all. Thank you for the continued support.

About Nick Nice

Ask anyone who knows Nick Nice and you'll learn that he's a Hip-Hop fan first...and an artist second. It's the fan in him that ultimately birthed the artist. Not for the fame. Not for the limelight. But to combat the rapid decline of quality music in the industry. Nick Nice never planned to be a "rapper", and even after 3 albums and a slew of mixtapes, he's still cautious of claiming the title. He says what's in his heart, and makes the songs that he wants to hear. So, coming from one true Hip-Hop fan to another...how could you not appreciate it? But, if you want Jay-Z, download Jay-Z. If you want a new, fresh take on things from the perspective of a reglular guy, take a chance and get familiar. There's no lack of talent...flow, wordplay, metaphors, passion, selective production. The only thing missing is the millions of people who already know about him. But would you rather be one of a million? Or one of a kind? So would he.

About JK Tha Cap'n

As a teen, manuevering through the streets of Rensselaer, NY, JK Tha Cap'n kept a constant rotation of a wide variety of Hip-Hop artists blasting through headphones, boomboxes, or car stereos everywhere he went. From 2Pac to Master P, he subconsiously studied the works of an array of artists, ultimately enabling him to master a craft that would grab the attention of the masses, no matter what their personal preference...even if that wasn't remotely part of his plan at the time.
Unfortunately, it took a negative situation for JK to switch from the receiving end of the music to delivering the sounds. At the young age 17, serving a 3 year bid Upstate, JK linked with a small, credible crew and began writing and spitting bars to nothing but the pound of a chest or a tap on a table. He quickly earned his stripes as an emcee inside and outside of his circle, and when it was finally time to come home, he had an arsonal of lyrics to unleash the first chance he got.
Enter ; Nick Nice. Still on paraole, while working his nine-to-five, he met Nick, a local artist with a dream and a plan, and proved his hunger and talent in less than 16 bars. With no time wasted, the two immediately hit Nick's attic studio and recorded 3 mixtapes in a very short time, garnering the attention of the local scene. It's been nothing short of hard work and hustle, but the product speaks for itself. Fresh off the release of his work on the Try-City Ent. "Tryfecta" compilation album, JK is prepping his debut EP, "Take it How Ya Wanna", which will serve as a warm up to his long awaited debut album, "Longshot". JK's got a great ear for quality production, an uncanny ability to put hooks together, and true to life lyrics that everyone can relate to in one way or another. JK has lived the life your favorite artist tries to rap about. The Cap'n of a strong team is at the line of scrimmage and reads the defense clearly...it's about time to see the execution that will more than solidfy his title.
